My very favorite Easter treat is Cadbury Mini-Eggs (not to be confused with the Creme Eggs, although I like those, too). I love the crunchy outter sugar shell and the smooth milk chocolate on the inside. I could eat bags and bags of these. Actually, my family HAS ate bags and bags of them. But don't tell anyone. It'll be our little secret, okay?
My second favorite Easter treat is Peeps! Yes, this is one of those "Love 'em or Hate 'em" things. I definitely fall in the "Love 'em" group, while Bob is a Peep Hater (Grrr!!). Seriously though, what's not to love? A plump, gooey marshmellow center shaped into either a Chick or a Bunny, covered in your choice of rainbow colored sugar with little chocolate eyes? I guess if you're diabetic, it's probably not the best choice of treat, but guess what? I'm not diabetic. Yet.
1) Bunny Peeps - I bite off the ears first, then turn it around and eat the body, therefore saving the head for last. Very morbid. Very, VERY tasty!
2) Chick Peeps - I bite off the tail, then I eat the head and then the body. Not quite as morbid, but still very, VERY tasty!
I also like my Peeps soft. My step-father, Lee, likes to open the package so they get hard on the outside and then eats them. I guess to each his own. But, in this case, I'm right.

For the last two years at Easter time...I walk by those plastic, purple bags and just dream and remember how good those chocolatey little eggs are. The chocolate...soooo creeeeaaaamy! Keep the peeps. My step mom buys them EVERY year for our baskets...even though we ALL dislike them.
Janice, you Peep-Hater, so sorry you can't enjoy the deliciousness that is the mini-egg. I think I'll eat one in your honor. Because I care about you THAT much!
Ah ha, this proves undoubtedly and with 100% certainty that you are a chip off the old Mom block indeed! Both Cadbury eggs and Peeps are hands down my favorite Easter candy too, so naturally it is yours too! Who could despute the fact of either being the quintesential annual Easter delight that brings smiles to faces and tummies filled with gastronomic satisfaction! Enof said! Love you - Mom
Katie...you are so hilarious. I was laughing through this entire post. I'll agree with you on the eggs...but not on the peeps. Gross! I pretty much like anything that has chocolate with it.
Those are both of my favorite Easter candies as well. However, I'm with your step-dad and like to open the package and let them get just a little crunchy on the outside. Oh and last year I found some of the Cadbury eggs that had dark chocolate in the middle. Holy Cow those were good!

I am with you on the eggs! Those are my favorite. Peeps are nasty though! My mom likes to put them in the microwave for a little bit and they get all puffy before she eats them.
Yeah the mini eggs are the bomb! I think they're in the stores now...should start getting some. But they're just so easy to eat. Damn.
Umm...Katie, those eggs are my favorite, too!! They're absolutely the best, I wait all year for them. Peeps...not so hot on, but they're cute as hell! Easter is such a colorful holiday!
